40 minutes...holy crap
Guess I just wanted to make sure pigs wouldn't actually start flying threw the air.

So I did it...I ran a marathon with no history of every running a mile before I started to train. In the end, I managed to raise over $3,000 with the help of amazing friends and family! Thank you!
I realized today that blogs are the modern version of a letter - and just as good if you are okay with sharing it with many others - I am - because your intimacy is honest and palpable - maybe fueled by your willingness to challenge yourself in such a real way - and if a pig did fly he wouldn't bump his ass so much...
ReplyDeleteHey Kim - you rock! You know, I can race a bike for four hours, but run 30 minutes? Torture. A few months ago while in San Fracisco for work I went on a run. The first 15 minutes felt great. By 20 minutes, my knee was aching. 28 minutes into it and I was forced to walk -- no hobble -- and gimped the rest of the way to the hotel. I was a wreck. I could barely walk through the airport the following day because my anterior tibialis (shin muscle) was SOOOO sore. Oh, and my right knee. Running is HARD. And you are my hero for training for a half marathon. Go girl! Here's are two tips from my cycling training. When it comes to your training plan, follow these two rules and you'll be ready for that half marathon (and be planning the next one before you know it).
ReplyDelete1. Just do the work.
2. You pain is not special.
Enjoy! And, lots of love,
Amy
